STEALTHGENIE ANDROID REVIEW

StealthGenie (www.stealth-genie.com) has released their much anticipated Android spy software product. Even though you'll find an ever increasing amount of Android spy apps flooding the market, StealthGenie stands out from them all based not only on their powerful Android spying features, but mainly due to a couple unique features ONLY found on StealthGenie. These features will be discussed in more detail later on in this review.

STEALTHGENIE FEATURES

StealthGenie comes in three different packages. You can get a 'Basic' package that will have all the entry level spy features such as reading call history, viewing text messages, etc. The next step up is the 'Gold' package that has all the features found in the Basic package, plus a few extra such as reading emails, viewing photos, and a few basic alerts. The top of the line 'Platinum' package has it all. You get everything in the Basic and Gold package, plus you get some of the most advanced Android spy features found online such as remote monitoring, call recording, triggers/alerts on just about everything you're monitoring, view videos taken on the phone, and even listen to the target phone's music library.

CORE FEATURES > Here are a list of all the "core" features found on the StealthGenie Android spy app that are commonly found on other Android spy apps on the market. The features listed below represent all the features found in the top of the line Platinum package. • Record Calls - This will enable you to record calls, which are then uploaded to your secure StealthGenie account. Once these calls are in your account, you can then listen to them and/or download them to your computer.

• Remote Monitoring – This will record the surroundings of the phone within 15ft. Similar to the call recording feature, these recordings are also uploaded to your secure online account.

• Remote Deactivation - This will enable you to remotely deactivate the app.

• Triggers & Alerts - One of the best features offered by StealthGenie is triggers and alerts. Good news for anyone looking for powerful Android spy software.

If you’ve been searching for Droid spy apps, there are a few companies that are currently selling Android spy software that will work on a Droid cell phone. However, you need to be sure that you are buying Android spy software that works, otherwise you could get scammed. Check out the two Droid spy apps listed below, but make sure you read the one to stay away from.

DROID SPY SOFTWARE.

Although you might see a variety of spy phone apps advertised online, only two spy phone vendors currently support Android cell phones. As the popularity of phones running the Android OS increase, we’ll start to see more spy phone companies target Android devices, but so far there are only two to choose from.

The first company (Mobile Spy), is one of the market leaders in spy phone technology. They support a variety of cell phones, have a solid track record, and seem to always be one step ahead of their competitors in terms of supporting the latest cell phone devices. The second company (MobiStealth) is a relative new comer, yet they have somehow managed to develop an Android spy app with a bunch of impressive spy phone features that are unique only to MobiStealth. I do want to point out that I have personally tested Mobile Spy's Android spy software, but I've not had a chance yet to test MobiStealth's Android spy app. I've scheduled time this Tuesday, January 12, to run a series of tests on it and will write a review a few days after.

WHAT REALLY WORKS?

The following two companies are the only two spy phone vendors currently selling Android spy software that will work on the Motorola Droid. Both are software downloads that require you to install them directly on the Droid cell phone that you want monitoring. Both require physical access to the Droid phone and both require the Droid phone to have a data connection in order to upload the information & data collected.

1) MOBILE SPY ANDROID SPY

Mobile Spy (www.mobile-spy.net) was the first company to develop and market Android spy software. As discussed above, they are one of the industry leaders, and were also the first to market spy apps for the iPhone. Their spy phone software supports most major smartphones such as BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian, & Windows Mobile. In December 2009, Mobile Spy announced to the world that their Android spy software was available to the public.

Mobile Spy’s Android spy apps has the following spy phone features:

• Read entire contents of incoming & outgoing text messages that are sent and received on the Droid.
  
• View calls logs. Call duration, number called/received, and name (that is stored in the address book) are shown.

MobiStealth (www.mobistealthSPY.com) is the spy phone industry's “new kid” on the block. I was following these guys for a while during their beta phase and was impressed by how aggressive they were trying to recruit beta testers for their Android spy app. They were constantly were seeking out people who wanted to beta test their software via forums posts, news releases, and blog postings. This shows me that they were serious about releasing a quality product, versus building something really quick and relying on their customers to find all the bugs.

Now out of beta, they have officially launched their Android spy software to the public. I’ve not had an opportunity to personally test out their Android spy software, but from what I've read, it’s probably one of the most advanced cell phone spy apps that has come around in a long time. If price really isn't that important to you, and you are looking for Droid spy software that can do just about anything you would ever want, then definitely check out MobiStealth's Android spy app.

Here is a list of features found on their top of the line PRO-X version.

• Listen to recorded calls. MobiStealth will record their calls and upload them to your online account.
• Remote monitoring. Activate the Droid’s mic and enable you to listen in on the Droid's surroundings.
• Picture retrieval. This will enable you retrieve all the photos that are stored on the Droid.
• Video retrieval. This Droid spy app feature will enable you to retrieve all the videos stored.
• View incoming & outgoing text messages and call history.
• Vew the Droid’s browser history and website bookmarks.
• SIM change notification. As soon as the Droid’s SIM card is changed, you’ll be notified via SMS.

DROID SPYWARE. WHAT DOES NOT WORK?

STAY AWAY from anyone selling bluetooth mobile phone spy software. A quick glance at their ads and you'll see what they are telling you is a bunch of BS. They advertise that their bluetooth spy phone software has features such as “no range limitation” and “no installation required on the target device” etc. etc. etc. Well sorry but bluetooth DOES have a range limitation, and yes you wont have to install anything on the target device, but you DO have to “pair” up the devices, which means you’ll still be required to get access to the target phone. SUMMARY

Droid spy apps do exist and are available by a couple different spy phone vendors. Mobile Spy has been around for a long time, and considered one of the leaders in the spy phone industry. MobiStealth is a new to the spy phone world, but their Android spy app has features not found anywhere else. Which one do you choose?

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend which Android spy app you should purchase until I complete my tests on MobiStealth's product. Until I do, the choice will have to be up to you.

There has been a plethora of  buzz recently surrounding Google's entry into the smartphone business. On Tuesday, January 5, Google is scheduled to announce to the world that their new phone, the Nexus One, will be available for purchase.  Specific carrier details have not been announced, nor has pricing but according to some leaked documents, Google will have a unlocked version for $530 and a locked (subsidized) version for $180 and a 2yr contract.

Details have been coming in over the last couple days of what exactly the Nexus One will offer, but if it lives up to the hype, the Nexus One may become the "must have" product of the year. If this happens, it could catapult the popularity of Android spy software ahead of BlackBerry, Symbian, and Windows Mobile.  At the end of last year, Android spy software was in last place in terms of the most requested spy app for cell phones. First place went to the iPhone, then BlackBerry, Symbian, Windows Mobile, and finally Android.

Although the Nexus One will be available soon (possibly as early as January 5th when Google has their launch event), developers of Android spy software will most likely not be able to get their hands on it for at least a weak or two.  The Nexus One uses a new version of the Android OS, so various compatibility and performance tests need to be conducted before official support for the Nexus One will be announced.  The last thing a would be Nexus One spy would want is for their installation to wreck havoc on the Nexus One phone and the user finds out that spy software is installed on their shiny new cell phone.

Once official support for the Nexus One is announced, Nexus One spy software will most likely become a hot product as worried parents jump online to find out how to turn a Nexus One into a Nexus One spy phone.

1) Has Anyone Recently Borrowed Your Cell Phone? There is no way to install Android spy software without someone getting physical access to your phone. This means that if you are 100% sure nobody has used your phone (even for a couple minutes), then the odd of you having Android spyware on your cell phone is very very very slim. Keep in mind that it only takes a few minutes to install Android spyware, so if you let someone borrow your phone to make a quick call or to download a cool new ringtone/game, then your cell phone could be at risk.

2) $1000 Cell Phone Bill! Have you recently started to see an increase in your cell phone bills? Or perhaps you've been shocked to see an unusually large bill? Android spy apps such as Mobile Spy, require a data connection such as GPRS to transfer the data that has been recorded. This means if you are not the type of person who uses their cell phone for internet surfing, to download ring tones or game, then an unusual increase in data traffic is a good sign that you might have Android spyware on your cell.

3) 30 Minute Talk Time? The Motorola DROID advertises 385 minutes of talk time & 270 hours on standby. This takes a little bit of juice to make it all happen, so if you suddenly see a drop in your battery life, then it could also be a sign you have Android spy software on your cell phone.

4) Shut Down Problems? If you try to shut down your Android device and it doesn't respond, then this could also be another indication that your cell phone has Android spyware installed. I get a lot of emails from people who want to know if it's possible to install Android spy software (or any other type of spy phone software) without physical access to the cell phone.

The quick answer is NO. (there are actually two parts to this answer)

1) You cannot remotely install Android spy software because you MUST have physical access to the Android device. There is absolutely no way around this. Not a single Android spy software vendor on the market today (this also includes BlackBerry & iPhone spy software), is selling any type of mobile spy software that has remote installation.

2) The reason why there is no remote installation, is because spy phone software is designed for monitoring your children or employees on a smartphone you own or have proper consent to monitor. This means you should also not attempt to monitor your spouse, significant other or adult children with any spy software product without the consent and knowledge of such persons. Failure to do so may result in the breaking of federal, state, and/or local laws in your country.

So what should you do if you cannot get physical access to the target phone? Definitely don't waste your money on any type of Android spy software. I repeat, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I know there are few sites out there claiming that you can remotely install spy phone software for all cell phones such as Android, BlackBerry, or iPhone. Some even say you can use technologies such as Bluetooth. Do not believe what they advertise. If you do, its your loss.

My recommendation is that you either find a way to get access to the phone (or wait) so you can install Android spy software directly on the cell phone, or you look for alternate ways to monitor them. For example, what two technology items are most used today? I'd say cell phones and computers. If you can't get access to one, go for the other one. Any google search for "PC Spy Software" will turn up at least 40-50 different PC Spy vendors. My personal favorite is Sniper Spy, because it has a cool live monitoring feature and it does have remote installation.

Now you know, that no matter what you read online, there is no way to remotely install Android spy software, but at least there are other ways to get the information you want. Remember, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY on cell phone spy products that claims you can remotely install it, and always make sure you are following all applicable laws in your area when installing and using spy phone software.

Motorola DROID seems to be the hot new cell phone at the moment. The early reports indicate that the DROID might be the real deal and could potentially put up a real fight against the iPhone. Dell officially announced their intent to enter the competitive smartphone industry.

Although this has probably been one of the worst kept secrets in the smartphone industry, at least we now have the "official" word from Dell. Even though their plans to start in China and Brazil, will not put a smile on Dell fans in the US, at least we know that it will only be a matter of time until we start to see them trickle in.

The best news of Dell's announcement was that they will use Android as their OS of choice. This is fantastic news for all of us Android fans, and even better news for anyone who may want to eventually monitor someone using a Dell cell phone. With the recent announcement that Android spy software is now available, and as long as Dell continues to use the Android OS, we'll definitely see Dell spy phones floating around.
